Defense of Assault Charges and Other Violent Crimes
Oakland County, Michigan ∙ Detroit Metro
If you've been charged with a violent crime such as assault, armed robbery, domestic violence or murder, your defense lawyer should get involved in your defense as early as possible.
In cases involving assault or another violent crime, interviews with witnesses are extremely important. Witnesses must be tracked down and interviewed as soon as possible, before their memories fade or they manage to disappear.

For 15 years, I have worked as a private criminal defense lawyer. I am an aggressive advocate on behalf of clients accused of assault and other violent crimes. My clients appreciate the time I take to explain each step of the criminal justice process to them, and the energy and skill with which I fight to protect their rights and freedoms.
When Assault Cases Go to Trial
The goals in every case are to keep my client's record clean and keep my client out of jail. Sometimes, the best result is obtained through a plea bargain with the prosecuting attorney. Such cases can be resolved without a trial.
However, if the prosecutor is not open to a fair and reasonable plea bargain, then I am always prepared to defend my clients in a jury trial. I am an experienced and successful trial lawyer in criminal assault cases, and I am especially known for my skill during cross-examination of witnesses for the prosecution. This is where an assault case can often be won or lost — but you need a lawyer who can think on his feet and who is so thoroughly familiar with your case that he understands exactly what questions need to be asked to discredit the prosecution's witnesses.
Not-Guilty Verdict: Felony Aggravated Stalking
My client was charged with felony aggravated stalking, and the case went to trial. During cross-examination of the alleged victim, I forced her to admit that she had failed to take some simple steps that would have put an end to the alleged stalking. For example, she complained about excessive phone calls, but she paid for my client’s phone service and could have disconnected it at any time.
Based primarily on the information I uncovered during that cross-examination, the jury came back with a not-guilty verdict for my client.
